What's funny is that this position started out as an internship, but it wasn't long before I was managing all of the gardens and orchards on the entire forty acre property.

This is a corner shot of the front of my herb and perennial vegetable bed. It includes asparagus, lemongrass, rhubarb, ornamental Mexican Sage, Epazote herb, garlic chives, lemon balm, comfrey, and other assorted herbs. In the bottom right corner, you'll see part of a raised bed featuring red beets and edible Nasturtium flowers.

Above you're seeing a garden bed featuring one of my all-time favorite ornamental edible plants -- Tuscan Black Palm Kale. I usually plant these tall blue-green plants in groups for a more ornamental effect and to present a focal point in the garden. Palm kale is not only attractive, but it is also absolutely delicious and very nutritious.
